Setup and Objective

The setup of this activity was the Bidhan Shishu Udayan Park which is right opposite the school.

The objective of this activity was to let children explore a new space, build a sense of trust and security with the facilitators and each other, form bonds and friendships, engage in physical activity and have lots of fun.

How it happened

All the children were very excited to go to the park. After the opening circle, the children got ready to go to the park. They drank water and wore their masks. Each facilitator was assigned 5 children. After that, they wore their shoes. With the help of Robin dada and Ankur bhaiya, they crossed the road with their facilitator one by one. After everyone reached the park, the children began exploring the new space. They wanted to sit on the elephant statue. So one by one, they sat on the elephant statue. Then they wanted to try the giraffe slide. They waited for their turn to slide and they really liked it. After that, some of them wanted to swing and the rest wanted to try the see-saw. The two groups had one facilitator each to look after them. They also played catch-catch with Nikita didi and Priyanka didi. After that, it was time to go back. All the children came in, they washed their hands, drank water and shared their tiffin with each other. The children looked tired yet happy. Moreover, we saw some beautiful friendships forming during our park day out!
