Welcome to the final episode of this PBL series — the Christmas Carnival! Our little elves have been working hard to make this event a grand success. Read on to know how they organized a very merry carnival!
PLANNING AND SETUP
The activity was divided into the following steps:
1. Setting Up: Trays were arranged with the crafts made by the children. Coupons were printed in two denominations — 10 rupees and 50 rupees. Price cards were prepared for each stall. Coupons were bundled to create packs of 100 rupees or 200 rupees. The classroom was decorated with Christmas decor. Candies were bundled into small bags for the food stall. Banners were printed for carnival stalls.
2. Christmas Carnival: Tables were provided for setup.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The class began with an unexpected visit from a stranger from the North Pole… Santa Claus. The children sang and danced with their large jolly friend until it was time to get to work!
Setting Up: The children split up into groups according to their stall of preference. Stations were set up around the classroom to sell popsicle stars, Santa hats, Christmas trees, greeting cards, sock snowmen, and candy bags! The children rehearsed collecting coupons and packing items before the actual carnival.
Christmas Carnival: The carnival was packed with visitors! Children were seen promoting their stalls, collecting money, counting coupons, and packing goods for customers! Many Arthlings used their persuasive powers to convince their parents to buy items again and again!

OUTCOME AND FUTURE
This project marks the first time that the Arthlings of Arth Hours have planned an event at such a grand scale. This project incorporated literacy, numeracy, art, social learning, and experiences from the outside world!
We will continue to push the boundaries of PBL to explore newer and bolder avenues in early childhood education. From the team at Arth Hours, wishing you a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
