SETUP AND OBJECTIVE

The setup of this activity was simple. There were two tables with two facilitators each. Each table had one colorful cardboard box where uppercase letters were written. There were also holes made on the cardboard box. Each table also had two trays where the popsicle sticks with lowercase letters were kept.
The objective of this activity was for the children to put the popsicle sticks into the cardboard box correctly matching the uppercase and lowercase letters. This activity also helped the children to exercise and strengthen their fine motor skills.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The children came to the tables by themselves and waited for the activity to begin. Initially, the cardboard box was introduced to the children. They observed and shared what they saw with the facilitators. After that the two trays with popsicle sticks were kept on both sides of the table. By following the instructions given by the facilitators, the children were able to match the uppercase and lowercase letters and put the popsicle sticks in the cardboard box. All the children seemed very engaged in the activity. When the activity got over, the children helped in the cleanup.
