What number did I throw?
Date: Mar 2, 2022; Wednesday
Facilitator: Sonai
Participants: Nathan, Narushie, Maheera, Samaira, Aarav, Isa, Sherry, Daksh
Materials used: Chart papers, Colors, rubber plugs
Setup and objective
Two big chart papers were used where one was divided with different colours into three parts: hundreds, tens and ones. The ‘hundreds’ part was coloured in red, the ‘tens’ part was coloured in purple and the ‘ones’ part was coloured in green. In the second chart paper, the three divisions were there but they were done in different shapes like triangles (tens) and circles (hundreds).
How it happened
The different teams - A, B, and C came in one at a time. The facilitator had rubber plugs which she threw on the coloured chart paper. Depending on whichever colour/shape the plugs fell, the participants had to calculate and tell the facilitator the entire number. Whoever guessed the number first, won!
For example, if 3 plugs fell on red (100s), 7 fell on purple (10s), and 5 fell on green(1s), then the number that the facilitator threw is 375.
