Setup and Objective
The setup of this activity was simple. There were two tables with two educators. Each educator had one tray with themselves. One of the trays consisted of alphabets flashcards and soft textured alphabets and the other tray consisted of word flashcards, magnetic alphabets mixed with felt balls.
The objective of this activity was for the children to develop alphabets sense, form words with the help of phonics and strengthen their language skills.
How it happened
The children were divided between the two tables by the educators. They sat at their tables and waited for the activity to begin. Table no.1 was facilitated by Auindrilla didi which had soft textured alphabets and alphabets flashcards. Initially the educator showed an alphabet flashcard to the children and then they were asked to find that alphabet from the tray. The child who was able to find the correct alphabet from the tray got a high-five from the educator. Table no.2 was facilitated by Priyanka didi which had words’ flashcards and magnetic alphabets mixed with felt balls. Initially the educator showed a word flashcard to the children and then they were asked to find the alphabets which were mixed with felt balls from the tray to make that particular word. Children who were able to make the correct word got a high-five from the educator.
