How we incorporate maths and bowling together!

SETUP AND OBJECTIVE

The setup for this activity was simple. Our aim was to set the construction blocks as bowling pins with different numbers written on the masking tape that was stuck on the blocks. The objective of this activity was to create a bowling game where the participants would roll the ball and the numbers of blocks that the participants would strike down, they would add up the numbers and whoever gets the highest number at the end, wins!

HOW IT HAPPENED

The participants were divided into different teams. The participants of each team played one by one. They were all aware of the bowling game so everyone showed interest and were very excited to play. Each participant stood behind a line which was already made by the facilitator. From there they threw the ball and whichever numbered blocks the ball hit, the participants went with their respective pages and wrote down the numbers and then added the total. Initially they were playing individually but later on some of the team members helped each other in calculating the total numbers.
