Setup and Objective

The setup of this activity was quite simple. There were two tables with two educators and each educator had a tray with themselves which consisted of worksheets which had the print-outs for the names of each child’s first letter, play dough of various colours, wooden hammers and rollers.

The objective of this activity was for the children to develop and strengthen alphabet recognition.

How it happened

The children came to the table by themselves and waited for the activity to begin. Initially, they took the worksheets which had their name initials on it on their own. The play doh was kept in the middle of the table so that all the children can share it with each other. After that, they started sticking the play dough on the worksheets. When they were done with sticking the play doh, the children started to play with it. Some of the children made play doh rotis with the help of wooden rollers and some of them enjoyed hammering the play dough with the wooden hammers.
