Setup and Objective
The setup of this activity was simple. There were two tables with two different educators and the children were divided between the two tables by the educators. Each educator had a tray with themselves which consisted of worksheets, coloured cutouts, glue-sticks and flashcards. The objective of this activity was for the children to develop number sense and strengthen their counting skills and their fine motor skills.
How it happened
The children came to their tables and waited for the activity to begin. Initially, each child took a worksheet and a glue-stick and the coloured cutouts were kept in the middle of the table. After that, they were shown the flashcards which had dots of various number. They were asked to paste that many number of coloured cutouts on the ice-cream cone drawn on the worksheet. Since the theme of this activity was ice-cream party, the cutouts of different colours were given different flavour names. The children shared about their favourite ice-cream flavour and which flavour they wanted to stick on their ice-cream cones.
