Setup and Objective
There were two tables with two educators. Each educator had a tray with themselves which consisted of fresh cream, castor sugar, salt, vanilla essence, bowls, spoons, 2 ziplock bags with ice inside one of them. The objective of this activity was for the children to collaborate with each other and develop team building skills and also to enjoy some ice-cream to beat the summer heat.
How it happened
The children came to the table by themselves and waited for the activity to begin. Initially, the instructions menu was kept in the middle of the table for them to observe and understand the entire process of making an ice-cream. Then, the educator took a ziplock bag and added some fresh cream. The children also wanted to pour fresh cream into the ziplock bag so by taking turns they added fresh cream, castor sugar and vanilla essence. The educator then locked the ziplock bag and put it inside another ziplock bag which had ice. Then all the children shook the packet. Their ice-creams were ready. They took their bowls and spoons and enjoyed their vanilla ice-cream.
